PARENT INFO - ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING
The One-on-One Mentoring program was first run during the 2016-2017 school year as a way to create relationships with teens and adults where they would have a safe place to talk and receive guidance. Since this first year, the program has adapted to create even more opportunities for teens and mentors to connect – now through one of two tracts that run November through May.
LIFE SKILLS
Your teen will learn about communication, decision-making, shopping, transportation (both public and private), jobs, best-practice shopping techniques, and more
DISCIPLESHIP

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Meet and support your teen’s mentor. We encourage you to have their mentor’s phone number in case you need to coordinate with schedules or specific issues. We will have a separate meeting at the beginning of the program that you are required to attend in order for your teen to participate.
- Help your teen stay committed. We know that things “come up,” but in order for your teen to get the most from this program, they need encouragement and support to keep the time commitments. Each track requires 4-8 hours per month from your teen. The every-third-month required meeting dates are set in advance, but your teen will schedule each month’s one-on-one time separately with their mentor. There is no homework.
IMPORTANT DATES
Teen Mentees need to be able to commit to four mandatory meetings during the One-On-One Mentorship year, for both the Life Skills
and Discipleship tracks. Click the track you are interested in below to see which dates you will be required to attend.
