BECOMING A ONE-ON-ONE MENTOR
MYTHIRDPLACE One-On-One Mentors stand in the gap for our teens by being one person in their life who will walk along side them and help them grow in character and skills to become the greatest version of themselves they can be. This happens through our two mentorship tracks, the Life Skills track and Discipleship track, detailed below. Both tracks run November-April, and have an additional optional Summer session from May-July.
You can choose to be involved in one or both tracts – it just requires double the time commitment. (Note: if you are an APU student, all hours are eligible for ministry credit.) Both tracks can be done without spending anything; however, some of the Life Skills activities, and even just catch-up meetings at an eating establishment, may cost some minimal amount.

REQUIREMENTS
LIFE SKILLS
- Over 18 and has steady transportation
- Reliable and able to keep commitments; responsive
- Able to commit to 4-8 hours per month to walk with the teen through questions and specific activities for each month module
- Able to commit to every-third-month group meetings to recap learning and engage in group activities and learning (find dates here)
- Communicate at a minimum once per week with the teen
- Willing to undergo background check and fingerprinting (needed to ensure our teens are safe)
- Able to text and use SnapChat or willing to learn and engage in teen-based communication tools

DISCIPLESHIP
- Over 18 and has steady transportation
- Reliable and able to keep commitments; responsive
- Able to commit to 4-8 hours per month to walk with the teen through questions and specific activities for each month module
- Able to commit to every-third-month group meetings to recap learning and engage in group activities and learning (find dates here)
- Communicate at a minimum once per week with the teen
- Willing to undergo background check and fingerprinting (needed to ensure our teens are safe)
- Able to text and use SnapChat or willing to learn and engage in teen-based communication tools
- Be a committed Christ-follower who has a healthy, active relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
- Be a regular attender at a local church
- Pray with and for your teen

Mentors need to be able to commit to four mandatory meetings during the One-On-One Mentorship year, for both the
